The Los Angeles Modern Quilt Guild was lucky enough to have Denyse Schmidt to town this past weekend for a visit that included a talk and two workshops.

The weekend started on Friday night with her talk. It was hugely inspiring and spanned her career, design process and inspirations.

Then on Saturday she held a beginning workshop.

It was a really wonderful weekend. Everyone was so excited and eager to quilt quilt quilt after their time with her. She’s so nice and encouraging. You can see all of my photos here.

    Looks like you guys had a really great time!! Isn’t Denyse so down-to-earth? I helped her out with the photoshoot for her new book and I loved how great she was.

    I just moved to the area from Kansas & Denyse’s talk was my first taste of the LAMQG. I had a great time & can’t wait for next month’s meeting!
